Profile

Alex Golesh was named Auburn Football’s head coach on Nov. 30, 2025 as the 33rd head coach in program history. He led South Florida as head coach from 2023–25, compiling 23 wins over three seasons including a 9-3 record in 2025. Golesh’s USF offenses averaged more than 35 points and 450 yards per game and the 2025 unit ranked No. 2 nationally in total offense (501.7 YPG) and No. 5 in scoring (43.0 PPG). His 2023 USF team produced the largest single-season turnaround in school history (1–11 to 7–6) and a 45-0 bowl win over Syracuse.

Coaching Approach

Operates an up-tempo, high-efficiency offense demonstrated at USF (2023–25) with eight 500+ yard games in 2025 and national top-5 unit rankings; previously served as Tennessee offensive coordinator/tight ends coach (2021–22) where his offense rose to No. 7 in 2021 and No. 1 in 2022 nationally and led the country in scoring (47.3 PPG) and total offense (538.1 YPG); has produced position winners (Jalin Hyatt, Hendon Hooker) and improved recruiting with top-rated American Athletic Conference signing classes in 2024 and 2025.
