Fran Brown was hired as Syracuse’s 31st head coach on Nov. 28, 2023 and produced a 10-win season in his first year, tying the Syracuse record for most wins by a first-year coach and finishing among the program’s top three single-season win totals. Brown’s 2024 Orange led the nation in passing behind QB Kyle McCord, who set Syracuse single-season records for passing yards (4,779), completions (391), attempts (592), passing touchdowns (34) and total offense (4,714). Brown signed Syracuse’s two highest-ranked recruiting classes in the modern era through his first two classes and his first transfer portal class ranked No. 9 nationally.
