Profile

Mario Cristobal was named Miami’s 26th head coach on December 6, 2021 and led the Hurricanes to a program-record single-season wins and the program’s first College Football Playoff berth and CFP National Championship Game appearance in 2025, finishing 13-3. Cristobal guided Miami to back-to-back 10-win seasons (2024-25) and oversaw three players who won major conference awards in 2025, including Rueben Bain, Jr. (ACC Defensive Player of the Year). He previously compiled a 35-13 record at Oregon with consecutive Pac-12 titles (2019, 2020) and was on Alabama staffs that won the 2015 national title.

Coaching Approach

Built through offensive-line/run-game emphasis and elite recruiting: served as Oregon co-offensive coordinator, run-game coordinator and offensive line coach in 2017, helped Alabama offensive line win the inaugural Joe Moore Award in 2015, and assembled top-10 recruiting classes at Oregon (2019-21) and top recruiting classes at Alabama (2013-16) per bio.
