Profile
Mark Carney joined Kent State in January 2023 as tight ends coach, was elevated to offensive coordinator for the 2024 season, served as interim head coach in April 2025, and was officially named the 24th head coach on October 30, 2025. In 2025 he led the Flashes to a 5-7 record, a five-game improvement—the second-largest turnaround in program history—and a 4-4 MAC mark. That season produced five All-MAC selections and MAC Specialist of the Year Da’Realyst Clark, who returned two kicks for touchdowns including a game-winner against Merrimack.
Coaching Approach
