Profile

Scott Frost was re-introduced as UCF’s head coach on Dec. 8, 2024 after previously leading the Knights to a 13-0 perfect season, an AAC championship and a 2018 Peach Bowl victory over No. 7 Auburn in his 2016-17 stint. Frost’s first two runs at UCF produced a combined 19-7 record (6-7 in 2016, 13-0 in 2017) and a unanimous 2017 consensus national coach-of-the-year selection. In his return he guided the 2025 Knights to a 34-9 victory over UNC, closed the season with a top-3 all-time UCF pass defense figure (185.1 ypg allowed passing) and saw DE Malachi Lawrence taken in the first round (23rd overall) of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Coaching Approach

High-powered offense historically paired with the ability to improve defensive metrics: Frost’s 2017 UCF team led the nation in scoring (48.2 ppg) and achieved the school’s first undefeated season, while UCF’s 2025 pass defense allowed 185.1 yards per game (third-lowest in team FBS history) during his return.
