Named South Carolina’s 36th head coach on Dec. 6, 2020, Beamer entered the 2026 season in his sixth year in Columbia with a 33-30 record and 33 wins through five seasons, tying Lou Holtz for seventh in school wins. His 2024 Gamecocks went 9-4 with a school-record four wins over ranked opponents and finished No. 19 in both final AP and Coaches polls. Beamer’s first season in 2021 improved Carolina from 2-8 (2020) to 7-6 and a Duke’s Mayo Bowl victory, and his 2022 squad finished 8-5 with victories over No. 5 Tennessee and No. 7 Clemson and a No. 23 final ranking.
Coaching Approach
