Profile

Troy Calhoun has been Air Force’s head coach since 2007 and built a program that balances the Academy’s rigorous academic and leadership demands with sustained on-field success. Under his direction the Falcons have reached a service-academy record number of bowl games, produced multiple double-digit win seasons and posted high national defensive and rushing rankings in recent years. Calhoun’s teams routinely place among the nation’s leaders in Academic Progress Rate and have graduated virtually all seniors who played for him since 2007.

Coaching Approach

Integrates military-academic standards into program structure, emphasizing character, discipline and attention to detail to create cohesive teams that minimize mistakes and sustain ball-control football. Calhoun’s staff manages competing academic and service obligations while prioritizing efficient offense and strong run defense, producing low-penalty, low-turnover units and repeat national statistical leadership in rushing and time of possession.
